Black Friday 2012 at Apple

Published on November 20, 2012 by in Apple, iPad, iPhone, Mac, News, Rumors

The holiday seasons are here and for all everyone who is looking for a deal the infamous Black Friday is coming up very soon, actually some stores are doing it on Thursday.  For everyone looking to get an iPad, iPhone, iPod or mac at a discount…  this Friday would be the best time to buy.  We all know that the folks at Apple are very good at sticking to their manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) and so are their retailers, however on Friday as early as 3am you can shop online and pay less than MSRP.

To give everyone an idea of what type of discounts Apple may provide us on Black Friday 2012 lets take a look at last years price reductions.

Apple 2012 Black Friday

Black Friday 2011 Apple Discounts

-Apple Macs saw reductions by about $100

-Apple iPads had discounts anywhere from about $40 to $60

-Apple iPod Nano’s had a discount of about $10

-Apple  iPod Touch was down by about $40

-Accessories had discounts too, but they were all over the board, hard to narrow it down to a dollar figure

No More Twinkies?

I usually like to write about Apple products, however I know many people are fans of the Hostess Twinkie snacks.    That’s right, Hostess is closing it’s doors and selling off all their assets.   at the beginning of this year they filed a Chapter 11.

Now I know what everyone is thinking… NO WAY, but yes its true.  I too cant believe it.    Well the good thing is that these Twinkies have a ultra long shelf life… so stock up now, because there may not be anymore Twinkies… unless someone buys the brand and starts to make them again.  Even if that happens, may not taste the same.

Mophie creates a battery case for the Samsung Galaxy S III

Published on November 2, 2012 by in Apple, Culture, News

Mophie juice pack for Samsung

Mophie has announced it will now be offering Samsung Galaxy S III users some extra power, via a protective case with a built-in 2300mAh battery.   It seems that, if Mophie is now producing these battery cases for the Galaxy S III, Samsung must have marketed the Galaxy S III well, and sold enough to attract Mophie’s attention.

We all know that the Samsung Galaxy S III is not the smallest phone out there, and compared to the iPhone 5, you can there is an obvious size difference. Will the Mophie case make the Galaxy S III too big to carry?

Pondering other questions, should Apple see this as a sign that Samsung is becoming more of a threat?

In the past I know that Apple had a standard, so many manufacturers are able to create aftermarket products for iPhones and iPads. But, other smartphones haven’t had a standard (or didn’t sell enough), so you couldn’t find as much in terms of a true dock, a battery case, and so on.

Without the sales volume of a product like the iPhone 5 or iPad, many manufacturers see it as a limited market, which is why there are very limited options for the Samsung users.

Is it possible that sales volumes are now at the point that accessory manufacturers will start to design and produce different accessories gear directly towards Samsung phones?

Amazon forced to pull Kindle Fire ad … Ooooops!

Published on October 31, 2012 by in Apple, iPad, News, Rumors

Amazon thought they would put up an ad to fight against the Apple  iPad mini and do a comparison of the Kindle Fire HD and the Apple  iPad mini.    Unfortunately for Amazon they made the mistake of stating that the iPad mini only has a mono speaker set up and their Kindle Fire HD has stereo speakers… well Amazon was wrong.

Like many of the early reviewers of the iPad mini we also have confirmed that it does indeed include stereo speakers.   We will be posting our unwrapping of the iPad mini later this week so stay tuned.
